Donkey Kong is an arcade game released by Nintendo in 1981. Nintendo licensed the home market of Donkey Kong to Coleco, and in August 1982 Coleco offered Atari 2600 and Intellivision versions. The game is divided into four different single-screen stages. Donkey Kong employs cutscenes to advance its plot. The game opens with the gorilla climbing a pair of ladders to the top of a construction site. Donkey Kong is rated as one of the Top 10 Atari 2600 games of all time.
